Casualisation Dispute Moves Forward

We note the views expressed by our LT region train grades committee, the need to keep our disputes and industrial action continuously under review, and our members’ need for advice and information.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to ensure the speedy and effective implementation of our previous decision of 17 July 2012 to ensure that members are given full support and information in carrying out our industrial action, including both printed materials and personal contact with officials and representatives.

RMT Cleaners Strike Update

However the cleaning Companies do not care about their Workers.
  • A DECENT PENSION: Many Cleaners are working well beyond other Workers retirement age because they cannot afford to retire as they have no pension to retire on. This is a disgrace in 2012 Britain.

LU Olympics Disputes Explained - Casualisation and Cleaners dispute

Olympic Working Dispute

RMT and London Underground have an agreement regarding Olympics working. We are committed to sticking to this agreement, but have had reason to be concerned that management may not do so. We have therefore taken the step of calling 'action short of strikes' in the form of an instruction not to work outside your job description.

TfL Olympics Strike Action

RMT members working directly for Transport for London will be taking strike action from 0659 Friday 3rd August until 0700 Saturday 4th August over the total and abject failure of the organisation to offer any kind of recognition and reward for the increase in workload and pressure arising from the extended Olympics period and for attempting to impose changes to working conditions and a unilateral ban on annual leave in some departments.

Station Minimum Numbers

To help keep track of what minimum numbers for stations should be please see the attached figures.

RMT members on LU are currently in dispute about ICSA's being used as minimum numbers.

If you have concerns that a station isn't safely staffed, please contact the local rep - or if you don't know who that is we can find out for you. Just email us at info@rmtlondoncalling.org.uk
