Interserve security staff offered 'guaranteed minimum hours'

TERMS & CONDITIONS, SECURITY STAFF - INTERSERVE (BR1/14/2)

The Lead Officer recently submitted a report regarding Interserve having written to all staff working on the TfL Contract with a proposal to change a term of the contract from zero hours to a guaranteed minimum number of hours each week. RMT is in favour of replacing zero hour contracts with guaranteed hours and the correspondence from Interserve states that the actual working hours will not change.

Subject: CONDITIONS OF SERVICE, SECURITY STAFF – INTERSERVE (TFL CONTRACT)

That we note the resolution from our Piccadilly & District West Branch regarding the unacceptable, arbitrary and draconian treatment of our members by Interserve on the TfL contract.

Accordingly, we instruct the General Secretary to arrange an urgent meeting between our Interserve IR representatives, Piccadilly & District West Branch Officers, the Lead Officer, Senior Assistant General Secretary and members of the NEC, to discuss the organisation of a ballot for industrial action.

RMT insist Interserve doesn't implement new contract whilst consultation continues

JOB DESCRIPTIONS – INTERSERVE (LUL CONTRACT) (LUL/14/1)

A copy of a new contract that Interserve intend to introduce for staff on its LUL contract has recently been received and an initial consultation process has commenced. To date, one meeting has taken place with the Company and the Lead Officer has already had cause to write to Interserve to insist that there is no implementation until the consultation process has concluded. The Union will continue to monitor this situation and I will keep Branches advised of all further developments.

Interserve imposes fundamentally new working practice, doesn't even show workers new contracts

CHANGES TO CLEANING OPERATIONS – INTERSERVE FACILITIES (KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS) (DLR/15/4)

A report has recently been received from the Regional Organiser advising that Interserve Management on the KAD contract have imposed fundamental changes to the terms of our cleaning members. To make matters worse the new arrangements were imposed this Monday while discussions were still at a very early stage without proper consultation with the union being conducted.

Tube cleaners fight back

Over 50 Interserve cleaners, Tube workers from other grades, and supporters held a noisy protest outside Interserve's head office on Tuesday 15 December, exposing the Scrooge-like practises of the cleaning contractor, which routinely short-pays its workers.
