Imposition of Night Tube Duties, Train Operators - London Underground

I am pleased to report that, following over 20 sessions at ACAS and with London Underground management having previously shown no sign of shifting, progress has now been made on the Night Tube dispute. As you will know, this dispute began after management ripped up agreements that Night Tube duties would not be imposed on members and that the service would be run on a voluntary basis.

The RMT National Executive Committee has taken the decision to accept an offer on Night Tube from London Underground, to agree a minimum number on each line who wish to preference Night Tube duties. RMT's Train Functional Council will meet to discuss the implementation of this and assist local reps in monitoring of all Night Tube duties being carried out by volunteers.

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                         715

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:               628

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                86

IMPOSITION OF NIGHT TUBE DUTIES, TRAIN OPERATORS - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/2/3)

Further to my previous Circular IR/103/22, 6th March 2022, a re-ballot is being conducted over London Underground's unacceptable imposition of night tube duties into the TO21 roster, as this issue remains unresolved. RMT remains committed to defending the work/life balance of Train Operator members and preventing dangerous levels of fatigue, as per the 2016 agreement.

Following the Company's announcement to reintroduce Night Tube on the Jubilee Line later this month, your RMT Lead Officer has consulted your Reps and the National Executive Committee has taken the decision to call strike action against this service as our dispute remains unresolved.

Further to my previous Circular IR/010/22, 13th January 2022, and following the successful ballot of all LUL Train Operators late last year, members took part in solid industrial action and members on the Central and Victoria lines have continued to take action each weekend to date.

As you are aware, following the successful ballot of all LUL Train Operators late last year, you and your colleagues took part in solid industrial action and members on the Central and Victoria lines have continued to take action each weekend to date.

Night Tube strike action goes ahead this evening.

LONDON TRANSPORT UNION RMT has called on London Underground to end it's deafening silence over continuing negotiations as the latest phase of Night Tube weekend strike action goes ahead this evening.
