New leaflet: Vote Yes for strike action on pay & conditions

The NEC has taken the decision to ballot all LUL members over pay & conditions.

We will not accept an either/or offer that asks us to chose between protecting our pay or addressing fatigue and working hours.

Please circulate this new leaflet. There are printed copies available at Unity House from Thursday 5 March. Please ensure every workplace has copies in the mess rooms and on notice boards.

Pay - Full & final offer from LUL is not enough plus Anti-union laws and Mayoral election

Pay & Conditions

We have told LUL that their full and final offer is not enough.

We cannot accept an offer that fails to deal with the unacceptable rosters that many members are having to work. We've given management the evidence - our shift working cuts the life expectancy of our members by 4/5 years. Management say we'll only address that if you pay for it. Imagine if they asked us to take a pay cut to cover the costs of PPE or asbestos removal! We can't accept their position.

Support our ABM Cleaners

Hope to see members from all functions on the cleaners demo at Parliament tomorrow.

The demonstration will take place on Wednesday 29 January at 13:00 opposite Old Palace Yard at the Houses of Parliament.

I recently attended a meeting with RMT's parliamentary group where the MPs agreed to write to the London Mayor in support of our demands that the Mayor immediately grants staff travel facilities to all cleaners.

Latest updates for the London Transport Region

Further to my previous Circular (IR/299/15, 4th December 2015) there remains a number of areas of concern over London Underground’s Fit for the Future Stations (FFFS) proposals and the Lead Officer has written to LUL seeking assurances that there will be no imposition of a new framework agreement, that staff will not be forced to sign new contracts and that rosters will not be imposed. At the time of writing we have not yet received a response from LUL.

Regional Executives Report - July 2015

RESOLUTION PASSED AT THE GGC 30/07/15

We note the intransigence of London Underground management and their failure to meet our reasonable demands on Every Job Matters and on Pay and Night Working. London Underground management continue to press proposals that will destroy jobs and life work balance on London Underground and we are left with no alternative but to organise a further strike, which will be for 48 hours.
