RMT Seek Legal Advice On Tube Bosses CCTV Use In Disciplinary

The GGC has considered a resolution from our Central Line East Branch concerning the use of CCTV footage in a disciplinary case. The Branch highlighted a case where evidence against a member was sourced from CCTV footage but this was not made available to the rep who was representing the member.

We consider the refusal to allow the rep access to all the evidence has denied our member justice. Having considered the situation, the General Grades Committee has decided to seek legal advice on this matter to see whether or not London Underground has breached the Data Protection Act and its license for the use of CCTV.

Additionally the GGC request that branches advise Head Office of any similar cases in your area as a matter of urgency.
