Defending activists

The RMT always defends members, activists and reps from management attacks. We won't let the bosses make hostages of members during disputes, or to unfairly attack us at any time.

RMT solidarity with Jason Moriarty

The RMT offers full support and solidarity with our comrade Jason Moriarty following his disclosure to his employer, London Underground, of a disability.

RMT London Transport region is organising to ensure that Brother Moriarty is defended and supported. Finsbury Park branch has passed a motion of support for Jason which is below, along with the National Executive Committees response.

RMT to strike on polling day on London Underground over victimisation and sacking of trade union rep Gary Carney

TUBE UNION RMT confirmed today that it has called a strike on the Central Line on May 6th over the victimisation and sacking of long-standing activist Gary Carney.

Members have already delivered a solid yes vote for strike action in this dispute over the unjustified dismissal of Brother Carney, an RMT Representative who has twenty-years unblemished service with the company.

Strike dates announced; ballot results show depth of anger towards unwarranted dismissal of Brother Carney

23rd April 2021

Dear Colleagues,

DISMISSAL, GARY CARNEY, TRAIN OPERATOR - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/4/1)

I write further to my previous Circular (IR/128/21, 31st March 2021), concerning the above matter. The ballot has concluded, and the result is as follows: -

Are you prepared to take strike action?

Defend Bro Fasoro

We note the report from our Lead Officer regarding the thinly disguised disgraceful third party interference by ABM which led to the sacking of Bro Fasoro by his agency Premier Work Support for trades union activity; and put on record now that the RMT will consider every avenue to ensure our brothers ability to undertake lawful trades union activity is remedied and he is reinstated without any detriment.
