Executive decision on Picc Line Workshop staff action
Submitted by Admin on 12 July, 2017 - 13:54We salute the determination of our Members in the rock solid ballot turnout and yes vote in their resolve to halt the attempted introduction of a two-tier work force in the LU Piccadilly Line Fleet area; with all the detriments encapsulated for our present members; and to seek proper ongoing employment for future members joining the company.
We also note the report from our Lead Officer and that some movement was secured at yesterday’s Director level meeting; but not enough in terms of our Members aspirations.

NO TO JOB CUTS AND TRADE UNION VICTIMISATION AT LONDON MET
Submitted by Eamonn Lynch on 24 May, 2016 - 12:03Recently announced compulsory redundancies of permanent faculty staff, and other recent job losses resulting through the removal of all teaching hours from some long serving HPL (Hourly Paid Lecturer) staff, at London Metropolitan University.
We believe that these lecturer job cuts will directly negatively impact on the student experience. This is particularly problematic as the university attempts to make itself more attractive to potential applicants and provide an enhanced service to its existing students.
