Given these abuses, all local reps are strongly encouraged to appeal any LDI outcome other than “no further action”.Some classic lines to be on the lookout for when repping members at LDIs:

Further Industrial action confirmed in fight for Tube safety and jobs

Following the rock-solid strike action taken by RMT tube station members on the 8th and 9th of January the union today confirmed a new phase of action from the 6th of February.

The union’s executive has agreed, following extensive consultation with reps across the tube network, that further, escalated strike action will be called from Monday 6th February unless London Underground meet RMT’s reasonable demands on station staffing and safety.

General Secretary Mick Cash said; "Our members are out in force across London Underground this morning in the fight for jobs and safety. The strike action is ‎being solidly supported on every line, at every station and on picket lines right across the Tube network.

"This action has been forced on us by savage cuts to jobs that have reduced London Underground to an under-staffed death trap at a time of heightened security and safety alert.

Dear RMT Members,

Today myself and senior RMT reps, The TSSA and LUL met at ACAS for the second day on the above dispute.

Despite my request yesterday to make a radically improved offer and a whole day of conciliation at ACAS no improvements were forthcoming.

LUL have stated they want to return tomorrow for talks, and we of course are available. If there are developments I will report back.

This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has taken the decision to call action and instruct ALL LUL STATION & REVENUE members NOT TO WORK ANY OVERTIME OR REST DAYS from 00:01 hours on Wednesday 23rd November 2016 until further notice.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/175/16, 22nd June 2016), members will recall the NEC decision to organise a Stations & Revenue Reps to discuss industrial action following the implementation of the “Fit for the Future” programme which is having a detrimental effect of members working lives with serious implications for their work-life balance. The arrangements for this meeting have now been finalised and are as follows:-

Fare dodging rockets as Revenue Inspectors are cut by more than a third

In the wake of figures released yesterday by the Labour Group on the GLA showing that fare evasion on London Underground has rocketed by over 200%, tube union RMT revealed today that, as well as closing ticket offices, LU has reduced revenue inspectors by more than a third with more cuts to come.
