My Experience of Trains Management Development Centre

When the company announced that all DTSMs and TOSMs would have to attend a Development Centre as part of our roles changing, your union reps asked if they could attend the pilot event as observers. This request was denied and myself and another rep were booked on the first session so that we could see what they were like and advise our members.

Night Tube News November 2016

Dear fellow Night Tube staff

From next Wednesday, RMT stations and revenue staff will be refusing to work overtime, as part of our campaign to restore cut jobs and improve working conditions for all station staff. That includes us. I am writing to urge you to take part in this action - in order words, NOT to work overtime.

Safe working for Night Tube Train Operators

As you all know Night Tube has been with us since mid August and will be across five lines by mid December.

Following the decision to employ NT Train Operators, the RMT made clear to LUL that we expected the same safety arrangements to be in place during night work as exists during the rest of the working day and that NT Train Operators, whilst working specific shifts, should feel as safe as their full time colleagues.

Big votes for action in two separate disputes on London Underground

Tube union RMT confirmed today that balloting has concluded in two separate disputes on London Underground with massive votes for action being recorded in both. Both disputes, tube station staff and Piccadilly Line drivers, have safety of passengers and staff at their core.

The disputes are:

CSM2 job under threat

The CSM2 job is now is seriously under threat as a result of some LU Area Managers lobbying hard behind the scenes for its abolition. RMT knows the CSM2 grade doesn't work - but not for the reasons being touted by managers. One idea being seriously canvassed is the merging of adjacent CSM2-type areas, with stations to be run by a CSS in exactly the same way as an SS2 used to until LU stupidly abolished SS grades to drive down pay, and this would likely be a CSS2; there are usually no Ops Rooms.
