Tube Pay Offer Derisory and Devisive

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2015 – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/0001)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/332/14, 15th December 2014), members will recall that we included a claim for a 4 day, 32 hour week and equal travel facilities for all London Underground staff in our submission to the Company. A series of meetings have now taken place and the following offer has been made:-

Year One
A 0.75% increase, effective from 1st April 2015.

Year Two
An increase of RPI in 2016

Also, in return for the future operation of Night Tube, a non-consolidated lump sum payment for all COO staff and CPD Operational Staff to be paid at two stage of £250, making £500 in total. During the last discussions, the Company advised that Train Drivers and Track and Signals staff only would be offered a further £250 payment.

This matter has been considered by the General Grades Committee, which has noted the reports on file that the pay offer from LUL is both derisory and divisive and taken the decision to organise a meeting of our London Underground Reps at the earliest opportunity to discuss the offer and other related issues.

I am currently making arrangements for the meeting and will keep Branches advised of all further developments.
