'Cross Line Working' Dispute Update

The RMT has made great progress in our S Stock dispute with LU. But one sticking point remains - the issue of Cross Line Working.

Following talks at ACAS on Tuesday 21st of May your negotiators tabled a reasonable solution to the S Stock dispute which was flatly refused by LUL for spurious reasons. The RMT proposed that the timetable should be amended so that trains are picked from Moorgate Bay Road as opposed to Baker St Met platforms; our view was that this would not compromise any existing agreements or require any additional training.

In fact it represented a benefit to the passengers. Management refused this proposal on a number of flimsy grounds and as a result the union’s action is on. This means you should refuse to take part in any crew

We remain ready to resolve this dispute and are available for talks but in the meantime we need members to support the action and any non-member can join the RMT at any point and take part in the action legally.

The action
All RMT Instructor Operators and Train Operators members at Barking (H&C), Edgware Road and Hammersmith Train Crew Depots are instructed as follows:
Only to pick up trains from the agreed pick-up points on the line – Hammersmith, Edgware Road and Barking depots, Farringdon Sidings, and Moorgate and Aldgate bay roads; and will not drive trains from or to Baker Street Metropolitan line platforms 2 and 3.
