FIXED TERM CONTRACTS, WORKSHOP STAFF, PICCADILLY LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/13/2)

At a recent meeting with Tube Lines, the Company announced its intention to recruit 35 new staff to work in workshops on the Piccadilly Line on a 2 year fixed term contract. The work is necessary to enable 24-hour lifting of the trains to replace damaged wheels due to problems with rail head contamination (leaf fall) and wheel flats on the line.

WITHDRAWAL OF TRAIN OPERATOR TRAINING, KINGS CROSS EAST-WEST REVERSING, PICCADILLY LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/10)

The following resolution was recently received from Piccadilly & District West Branch:-

“This Branch is amazed and astonished at the withdrawal of practical training of the very dangerous reversing move on the east bound platform at Kings Cross (reversing east to west), for Piccadilly Line Train Operators.

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2017 – BOMBARDIER (LUL VLU & SSR) (LUL/0001/B(V&S))

In line with union policy, a pay claim for an increase in pay and improved terms and conditions was submitted to the company. The Regional Organiser has met with them and the following offer has been tabled:-

Further to my previous Circular (IR/134/17, 27^th March 2017), the Reps meeting has taken place and the consensus from this meeting was that organising activity should take place across the line and the displacement situation is closely monitored as this dispute is unresolved.
