Today at 1000 hours we returned to exploratory talks with LUL , under the aspucies of ACAS in the dispute Every Job Matters.
Proposed by the Regional Council Executive Committee
We note that from 1 January 2014, restrictions will be lifted on Bulgarian and Romanian citizens coming to the UK to live and work. Those people who do so are likely to find themselves in the lowest-paid, most insecure jobs. Many of these jobs will be in London Transport, for example in contracted-out cleaning, catering and engineering functions.
Prior to the young members organised fundraiser social for the Brian Munro Cancer Fighting Fund on the 12th of August 2013 RMT young members went down to Dover Rail station to leaflet the public about Action for Rail: http://actionforrail.org/our-alternative/

The RMT have over one hundred members working for the London Cycle Hire Scheme; better known as 'Boris Bikes.'

As many know, London Underground is in the process of engineering another jobs attack. The RMT is taking a proactive stance in preparations for the changes, and part of this is to renew solidarity amongst all grades. Now more than ever it is vital that we reinvigorate our members and show an energised union presence in the workplace.
A major opportunity to do this is at our monthly Station Staff Recruitment and Retention day. I write you to request that you would send some representatives from your group and branch to our next Station Staff Recruitment and Retention day.
RMT Council of Executives decision: That we instruct the General Secretary to inform all Regionals Council that we have a syllabus available for women members to be held in the Regions.
