Fleet members to be balloted over increasing outsourcing of work, in breach of agreements

BREACH OF CORE WORK AGREEMENT, CONTRACTING OUT AND USE OF SECONDARY SUBCONTRACTORS – FLEET GRADES – LUL (LUL/13/1)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/144/16, 19th May 2016), the Company was informed that a dispute situation existed between us over the above issue and the following resolution has now been received from our LU Fleet Branch:-

“This Branch calls upon the National Executive Council to call a ballot for strike action and for action short of a strike for all LU Fleet members.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/212/16, 29th July 2016), the ballot papers were posted out to affected members on Tuesday 9th August and the closing date for this ballot is Tuesday 23rd August 2016. I will keep you advised of all further developments.

H&C drivers to be balloted over breakdown of industrial relations

Further to my previous Circular (IR/092/16, 4th April 2016), the Company was informed of a dispute situation due to a number of issues affecting members on the Hammersmith & City Line including breaches of the attendance at work policy, an overbearing management team, refusal to release reps for meetings and misuse of the disciplinary policy.

Victoria Line Night Tube Ballot Called Off

NIGHT RUNNING – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/15/4)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/200/16, 19th July 2016), I informed the Company of the dispute situation between us over the proposed rosters for Victoria Line Train Operator and Instructor Operator members. Since then, further meetings have taken place with the Company and RMT Reps. LUL has offered an additional review of the new rosters after eight weeks although Reps can also continue to raise any immediate concerns in the usual way.

'Good progress' in talks sees Piccadilly strike date pushed back

Further to my previous Circular (IR/073/16, 17th March 2016), members took part in solidly supported strike action on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th March which closed down the Piccadilly Line. However, management took the aggressive stance of threatening our members that they would lose wages if they refused to book on at Oakwood Depot and the National Executive Committee took the decision to rescind this instruction.

RMT General Secretary congratulates Piccadilly Line strikers

Further to my letter of yesterday’s date, first of all I would like to congratulate you all on the magnificent display of solidarity that you and your colleagues are participating in today. All Piccadilly Line services are currently suspended and will remain so throughout the rest of the day.

Tube bosses refuse to address serious issues at heart of dispute and strike goes ahead tonight on Piccadilly Line

 

Tube union RMT  today confirmed that there have been no further talks and 24 hours of strike action goes ahead from nine o’clock tonight by nearly 400 train operators across the Piccadilly Line over a comprehensive breakdown in industrial relations combining a range of issues. No services will be running.

85% voted for strike action with an even larger number voting for action short of a strike.
