Come and Join JUSTICE FOR COLOMBIA (www.justiceforcolombia.org) Outside the Colombian Embassy (Knightsbridge Station) at 16.00 on Monday 8th March to mark international womens day and protest against the Continued Detention of Liliany Obando, a Human Rights activist who has done nothing bar protest against the on-going murder of trade-unionists in Colombia.
A group of Trade Union Leaders will be be joined by a group of MPs in handing in a letter to the Embassy calling for lilianys Freedom.
The next meeting of the Morden and Oval branch will take place on Wednesday 24th March from 5.30pm at The Wheatsheaf public house, 2, Upper Tooting Road, London, SW17. It is situated next to Tooting Bec tube station.

TUBE UNION RMT today revealed leaked details of an internal London Underground management report titled “Minimum Staffing Levels” which the union is warning would lead to the loss of hundreds of station jobs, hacking back to the absolute bare bones staffing levels agreed in the aftermath of the Kings Cross fire in 1987. Even Victoria, the busiest station on the underground with 76 million passengers, could see its current twelve staff cut to just two during “degraded” operation.
Newsletter 'Across The Tracks' have obtained an internal LUL document revealing plans to cut minimum staff levels at stations across LUL.

LU Engineering has organised a seminar on 'Organising, Militancy and Revitalisation' Case study of the RMT - looking at the relationship between union militancy, effectiveness in delivering barginaing gains, membership growth and union revitalisation.
Speakers include Bob Crow (RMT General Secretary) and Alex Gordon (RMT National President), along with Professor Ralph Darlington of Salford University.

On Tuesday 26th January 2010 at Ealing Council's cabinet meeting it was decided by the cabinet that due to the limited progress made to date with their "earlier conciliatory approach" to Transport for London and London United, to address the problems that arise through the poor management of bus operations at the route 94 bus stand in Acton Green, it authorised council officers to remove the bus stand. The council will also write again to TfL and the bus operator London United to try to progress this issue, express concern over the issue and insist upon urgent action.
