No new money in bogus "£85 billion rail plan" as RMT exposes double accounting and phoney figures behind the spin
RAIL UNION RMT today slammed industry bosses club the Rail Delivery Group for pumping out the same old stream of bogus propaganda this morning in a desperate bid to con people into buying their claim that private train operating companies are investing in the UK when, in fact, they are robbing hundreds of millions of pounds from the British people to invest in domestic transport operations in other parts of Europe.
We congratulate our stations members on mounting a convincing dispute and strike action against the company’s Fit For the Future/Stations re-organisation, and enabling our Reps and Lead Officer to do a great job through negotiations in repairing the damage done to the safety, staffing and general running of tube stations; including putting back 325 jobs.
You can download below tables showing all additions under the 325 plan and ugrades from CSA2 to 1
26th October 2017 TO ALL RMT TUBE LINES (AP JNP) AND LUL MAINTENANCE MEMBERS Dear Colleague, PROPOSED TUPE TRANSFER OF AP JNP (TUBE LINES) TO LONDON UNDERGROUND LTD Further to my letter dated 22nd September regarding the above, the meeting with your Lead Officer, Reps and NEC members took place last week and I write to update you all on the current situation. It is now confirmed that on Sunday 29th October all AP JNP staff, approximately 1900 employees, will transfer into London Underground under TUPE.
Dear RMT members
Yesterday the General Secretary and myself attended a Security / Terrorism meeting (summit) with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of London.
All the trade unions in Tfl were there. The meeting covered all features of TfL operation including tube, buses, ferries, DLR, London Overground, cable car, all contractors and directly employed engineering and maintenance staff, cleaners ... everyone in fact.
The Chief Constable of the BTP and other security officials as well as senior LUL and Tfl Directors also attended.
325 Jobs Won through Strike Action Now Allocated
« More than 500 Jobs have been won back since the 953 Fit for the future cuts were announced.
« 325 new jobs won by Jan 17 strike will bring big reduction in lone working at worst effected locations.
« Additional jobs plus 54 CSA2 to CSA1 upgrades will help roster balance.
At Ruislip station last Friday (20 Oct) as a train was pulling into the platform, a young person jumped from the platform onto the tracks. Due to the driver’s quick reactions he was able to bring his train to an emergency stop which prevented the youth being hit.
TUBE UNION RMT today demanded that London Underground halt and reverse maintenance cuts and key asset sales after if emerged that reductions in vegetation management and the flogging off of a key piece of kit were major factors in the “wheel flats” fleet crisis that has dogged services on the Piccadilly Line for a number of years. RMT is warning that the next round of cuts being lined up to the TFL budget could unleash similar travel chaos but on an even wider scale.
Next LTRC is on Thursday 26/10/2017 at the 12 Pins PH
Seven Sisters Rd - nearest tube Finsbury Park
Meeting starts at 1630 ends at 1830
All members welcome
It’s your union come and have your say.
