RMT Young Members’ AGM training Course - 2010
Aberdeen, Sunday 27th June – Friday 2nd July

Last year we held a very successful ‘AGM Course’ for our young members. Sixteen attended – the largest course of its kind that we have organised. Our improved organisation for young members was further reflected when 30 delegates attended the recent National Young Members Conference, in Liverpool.

We are now looking for young active members to train on our 2010 course which shall run in tandem with our AGM in Aberdeen. Members must be under 30 years of age at the start of the course.

Applications need to be submitted by the 30th April 2010

The course is ideal for active young members who are keen to strengthen their organising and campaigning skills. It will include a mixture of classroom and ‘non classroom’ events and will include practical organising training with some early morning starts involved (5.30 am). The course will run from 11.00 am Sunday 27th June and will finish the morning of Friday 2nd July. Successful applicants will need to arrive in Aberdeen on the Saturday evening. Travel, loss of earnings (up to AGM delegate rate) and accommodation will be met by the union.

We anticipate a healthy interest and would encourage branches to send nominations in as soon as possible, using the attached form. You can contact Alan Pottage (07734 088 305) should you need further information.

It should also be noted that we will involve our young activists in events and campaigns following this training so we are looking for individuals with a long term commitment to the activities of our union.
