INVASION OF UKRAINE

Further to my circular of 4th March 2022, I placed a report this week before the NEC to say that I had been informed by the European Transport Workers Federation that the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) has launched an emergency fundraising appeal where it is possible to donate to families in need of assistance in Ukraine.

The appeal aims to provide food and water provisions, medical supplies, and hygiene items through the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine (FPU) and Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Ukraine (KVPU).

That NEC agreed that the union should make a donation and also circularise Branches and Regional Councils advising this is a legitimate item of expenditure from Branch Management Funds.
