RMT to re-ballot in track noise dispute

RMT TO RE-BALLOT MEMBERS DUE TO ANTI-TRADE UNION LAWS

6th of February 2020

Dear Colleagues

Excessive Track Noise – London Underground

Whilst you and your representatives in the London Underground have shown great resolve and determination to date in the current dispute with the company over the excessive level of track noise at a number of locations across the LUL network, you might be aware, because of the changes in the 2016 Trade Union Act it has become necessary to re-ballot you and your colleagues for industrial action. Therefore, your union's National Executive Committee has recently considered the matter and taken the decision to re-ballot all our Train Operators, Night Tube Train Operators and Instructor Operators on the Jubilee, Central, Northern and Victoria Lines members so that we can continue with this dispute.

Your union is asking you to return a massive YES vote just as you did in the previous ballot to help your union keep up the fight for justice. Only by returning a massive YES vote can we heap more pressure on management over this issue. The ballot for industrial action will open on Thursday 13th February 2020. Ballot papers will be sent to your home address shortly after this date and I urge you to vote YES for industrial action short of a strike when you receive your voting paper. It is imperative that you do not waste your vote.
