This EC decision regards 'electronic cigarettes'
We note the reply from London Underground Ltd extending the deadline for our comments to Monday 3 June. We also note the feedback received from branches and representatives.
We believe that it would be appropriate for LUL to hold discussions with trade union representatives and work through the pros and cons of its proposal, including discussing the best ways to support people giving up smoking, rather than simply imposing a blanket ban without such discussion. We therefore instruct the General Secretary to reply to LUL seeking such discussions and to send a copy of the letter to the other recognised trade unions on London Underground.
