LUL JOB CUTS – INDUSTRIAL ACTION STILL ON

This is the latest updated regarding the LUL job cuts dispute from RMT General Secretary Bob Crow.

Unions offer to recommend suspension of tube action if management agree to twelve week suspension of staffing cuts plans to allow for thorough safety evaluation

In ACAS talks today your Union together with TSSA tabled a new proposal to LU management which includes a recommendation for the suspension of industrial action if the management side agree to a twelve week suspension of the implementation of their station staffing cuts proposals to allow for a thorough station-by-station safety evaluation to take place.We understand that LU management are taking the offer away for further consideration with talks expected to reconvene tomorrow morning.

However, despite the rumours being put round by management NO agreement has yet been reached and the industrial action due to commence this coming Sunday, 28th November remains in place.

Just to remind you the action called is as follows:-

For all former Metronet Staff

  • 19.00 hours on Sunday 28th November until 18.59 hours on Monday 29th November

All members in the former Metronet grades are instructed to ensure that health and safety instructions and other instructions for proper working arrangements are fully complied with until further notice.

For all other London Underground Staff

  • 18.29 hours on Sunday 28th November and 18.28 hours on Monday 29th November 2010

The overtime ban remains in place and members are instructed not to work any overtime.

Members continue to be instructed not participate in the £5 minimum Oyster top-up, not to carry out higher grade working in a station control room, nor in the role of Station Supervisor, nor to substitute for the Station Supervisor when the Supervisor is not available
