COUNCIL OF EXECUTIVES REPORT JOHN REID 27/08/15

RESOLUTION PASSED AT GGC 24/08/15
“We note the report from the Lead Officer that due to our continuing industrial action significant progress has been made in the talks.

As a result we instruct the General Secretary to suspend all current action of Station Staff.

However, we further instruct the General Secretary to inform London Underground that until our reasonable and just demands are met we will remain in dispute and we will take further strike action on the 8th September 2015 and the 10th September 2015.

Significant Progress In Talks At ACAS Over Pay, Jobs And Night Tube

RMT suspends this week’s action and puts on September strike dates as talks over Night Tube make significant progress
TUBE UNION RMT said this afternoon that the strike dates on London Underground this week have been suspended, with new dates announced in September, as talks over pay, jobs and Night Tube have made significant progress at ACAS.

London Underground Strike Suspended - New Action Called

As members will be aware, your Union has been in intensive discussions with LUL at ACAS in an effort to reach agreement and resolve the current disputes over Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service & Night Running and Every Job Matters – Defending Jobs on London Underground. Now, as a result of the 100% support we have been receiving from you and your colleagues including two all-out strikes, a position has been reached that allows us to suspend the industrial action.

Reminder: Tube Strike On For Two Days Next Week

This action is suspended - details here

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE AND NIGHT RUNNING – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/0001)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/194/15, 12th August 2015), members are reminded of the forthcoming strike action detailed below.

All LU members, excluding Train Operators And Instructor Operators are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:-

Waterloo & City Strike Ballot Planned

RE-GRADING OF WATERLOO & CITY LINE SERVICE CONTROL STAFF – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/2/2)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/150/15, 15th June 2015), members will recall our offer to London Underground to return to ACAS to seek a binding agreement to progress our claim that Service Controllers at Waterloo should be re-graded and paid at the SCL1 rate in recognition of their hard work and multi-skilled duties. However, LUL’s position remains unchanged that it considers the current pay and grade for the role to be correct, and that a re-grade is dependent on additional duties and accountability being identified and implemented.

Upfront Newsletter: August 2015

Members of all unions once again showed the power of united action with another magnificent display of strength during the last strike. The all-grades overtime ban is hitting LUL hard and we have seen proof of this on their central target board. It has more red crosses than a game of Celebrity Squares with actual lost customer hours almost double the target. Lost hours caused through the Fleet overtime ban are 15 times higher than the target!

Why are we taking action?

RMT Calls Two Day Tube Strike

TUBE UNION RMT has today confirmed two twenty four hour strikes in the Night Tube and station jobs disputes as London Underground management, under the direction of Mayor Boris Johnson, continue to stall over the issue of work/life balance and job cuts arising from the new rosters and the Fit for the Future programme - due to come into force from the 12th September.
