This Regional Council applauds Bob Crow and those officials and members of RMT who have pledged their personal support to the Trade Unionists and Socialist Coalition at the next general election.
This resolution, aimed at strengthening the union's grades committees in our Region, was passed unanimously by the Regional Council Annual General Meeting on 25 February.
THIS REGIONAL COUNCIL BELIEVES THAT:
1. grades committees can perform three important roles:
The following amendments to the Regional Council Standing Orders, submitted by TfL no.1 branch, were all passed at the Regional Council AGM:
1) That there is a ‘timed agenda’ and if the time is ended then a request must be made through the Chair to continue talking on this item.
2) That the EC Member give their report about all matters, the RO give their report about all local issues. That there should be no duplication of items. Once both reports are given then the chair will ask for a show of hands for questions.

The following resolution, submitted by Piccadilly & District West branch and seconded by Hammersmith & City branch, was carried unanimously at the Regional Council meeting on 28 January 2010.
This Union has not been consulted on the implementation of the £5 minimum top up at Ticket offices. We believe this policy is both an attack on customers, especially poorer people, and a threat to the future of ticket offices and jobs.
The following resolution, submitted by Hammersmith and City branch and seconded by TfL no.1 branch, was passed at the Regional Council meeting on 28 January 2010.
This Regional Council Condemns the General Grades Committee’s decision to settle the 2009/10 pay dispute.
The membership had returned a 2-1 vote in favour of strike action and a 5-1 vote in favour of action short of a strike.
This showed that our members were not in favour of this deal and also showed members did not accept LUL management lies, intimidation and propaganda.
The following resolution, submitted by LU Engineering branch and seconded by TfL no.1 branch, was passed at the Regional Council meeting on 28 January 2010.
This branch believes that the conduct of the recent dispute over pay raised some serious issues of democracy and integrity. This resolution seeks to improve the way in which the executive operates in future disputes. We demand that:
This resolution was passed by the February Regional Council meeting.
This Regional Council instructs the Regional Organiser and the Trains Functional Council representatives to enter into negotiations with LUL to revise the numbers of local trains representatives. This revision to be in line with the documentation provided by TFC member Vaughan Thomas and discussed at the Train Grades meeting held on January 6th.

This Regional Council has been informed that Diane Abbot MP supported the former Mayor Ken Livingstone’s policy to privatise the East London Line. Also she did not sign the Early Day Motion regarding the issue.
If this is true then Ms Abbot has broken the policy of this union and the principles of our Parliamentary Group.
Finsbury Park branch passed the following resolution at its Annual General Meeting, requesting an RMT Special General Meeting about legal services, and has submitted it to the Regional Council for support. For the union to call such an SGM, other branches also need to support it. Stratford no.1 branch has already voted to do so. The Regional Council Executive endorsed this resolution on behalf of the Regional Council at its meeting on 9 February 2010.
