Solidarity with our Tube Cleaners
RMT Parliamentary rally and demonstration
TUESDAY 29th JANUARY 2019
London Underground cleaners have been invited to come to the Houses of Parliament on Tuesday 29th January to meet with some MPs. The MPs want to hear from cleaners about their issues. The best people to talk to the MPs are the cleaners themselves.
5.00pm: Demonstration outside Parliament (Old Palace Yard, SW1 3JY)
6.30pm: Rally and meeting with MPs inside the Houses of Parliament.
Despite working unsocial hours in dirty and hazardous conditions, cleaners are treated far worse than directly employed London Underground workers.
Cleaners have no sick pay, no travel facilities and inferior wages and terms and conditions all round.
On top of this the cleaner workforce is set to be cut from 3000 to 2000 workers.
Cleaners are an important part of the London Underground operation. They should be treated with the same respect as all other LU workers.
RMT wants:
-
No cleaning job cuts
-
Equal treatment with London Underground workers
-
All cleaning work to brought back in-house
Please show solidarity with our cleaner members on 29th January
