RMT to ballot City Cruiser members in defence of Sis Hairia Abdo

We note the report from our Lead Officer and the strength of feeling amongst our Members of crew in the City Cruises regarding the unfair dismissal of Sis Hairia Abdo for what are common working practices throughout the company.

We further note the Crew Members are calling for an immediate ballot so they can robustly defend Sis Hairia Abdo as soon as possible pending a strong yes vote which they are confident will be the ballot result.

LTRC Training - Anti Trade Union laws 25/5/17 - 1300-1500

London Transport Regional Council training day 25 May 1300-1500 at the 12 Pins Finsbury Park 

New anti Trade Union laws came into effect this year and we need to train our reps and activists in how the new laws will affect our ballot results. Equally important is how we organise to overcome the hurdles set by the Government.

The course will be held at 12 Pins, Finsbury Park on May 25 1300 - 1700

London Transport Regional Council meeting - 27 April 1630 Fountains Abbey, Paddington

The next meeting of the London Transport Regional Council will be on Thursday April 27 at the Fountains Abbey PH, Praed St, London W2

Meeting will start at 1630.

London Transport Regional Council 29 September

The next meeting of the LTRC will be at the Torch PH in Wembley Park on Thursday September 29 1630 - 1830

Following an initiative from Neadsen Branch the LTRC will be travelling around the region using Branch locations to hold the monthly meeting.

Recruitment and organising activity will take place prior to the Regional Council.

Th next meeting of the London Transport Regional Council will be on Thursday 24 September 1630-1830

Please try and attend and make sure your own branch is represented at this important organising meeting.

There will be reports from the Counil of Executive member John Reid and from the Regional Organiser John Leach.

City Cruises Thames River Workers Strike Suspended

TRANSPORT UNION RMT confirmed today that staff working for City Cruises, one of the major players in transportation on the River Thames, have suspended strike action due to take place today as an act of goodwill as talks are agreed for next week ‎to address the issues of pay and workplace justice.
Further action on Friday 4th September and Saturday 5th September between 07:00 hours and 20.00 hours remains on.

Workers at the high-profile company have been organised by RMT and recently voted by 100% for action. RMT has now been granted recognition after a long and hard campaign.
