TfL Members To Cease Training Of Agency Workers

Further to my previous correspondence, I would like to congratulate you for supporting your union and taking industrial action, in defence of your pension. This attack on your pension is clearly intolerable and represents the future strategy of TfL management and is a threat to all members in the pension fund regardless of company or grade.

In order to put pressure on the company your Executive committee after consulting with your representatives has decided to call the following industrial action:-

RMT Tells Cleaner Members Not To Use Fingerprint Book On

We note that despite this union’s objections - the infringement of our members’ civil liberties and the threat to jobs - ISS (LU CONTRACT) are pressing ahead with the use of this technology. We further note that they intend to impose this technology on March 2nd and have been insisting our members sign documentation in advance of this imposition threatening our members that they must use this technology or they will not be paid. We instruct the General Secretary to seek legal advice on this matter as soon as possible.

All Tube Industrial Action Suspended As Tube Bosses Pause Job Cuts Implementation

Following further talks at ACAS, your Executive Committee considered a proposal from London Underground to resolve our dispute. Having considered this proposal, your Union has suspended all industrial action including the strike that was due to commence from this evening. Therefore you are instructed to work normally.

I can advise you that the full details of the deal reached at ACAS and subsequently confirmed by formal correspondence from LUL is as follows:

RMT General Secretary Bob Crow said: “After two days of intensive and detailed discussions through the offices of ACAS we have now received proposals that halt the implementation of the job cuts set out in the HR1 document which gives us the opportunity to discuss all of the issues away from the pressure cooker.

“We now have a golden opportunity to look again in detail at all of the concerns we have raised about the impact of the cuts on our members and the services that they provide to Londoners. That is exactly what we have been calling for throughout this dispute.

Tube Union RMT confirmed today that following a ballot of members across London Underground in a dispute over jobs, services and safety that recorded a massive vote for both strike action and action short of a strike members are instructed to take action as follows:

Picket Locations - Every Job Matters Dispute & TFL Dispute

Every job matters - Building for the dispute

Picket lines will be from 2100 on Feb 4 to cover night book- ons in depots and on stations etc. Contact Branch secretary’s for full details.

All the following picket lines will start from approximately 0445 right through until 2300 on Wednesday Feb 5 and from 0445-2059 on Feb 6.

LUL Engineering & Fleet have slightly different plans, please contact Branch Secs. directly.

TfL also will picket their locations slightly later. Please contact Branch sec for full details.

ADVANCE PREPARATION

Choose in advance the best place(s) to picket. This should be where you will get best access to people arriving for work so you can persuade them not to go in. Try to cover all entrances.
In addition, you may choose to picket a location such as a busy station, where you can leaflet and speak to the public too.
Get members to volunteer to picket and to commit to a particular time slot.

AMENDED INDUSTRIAL ACTION

Further to my previous correspondence, I would again like to congratulate you for supporting your union’s call for strike action and action short of a strike in defence of your pension. Your Executive has carefully considered the strong wish of you and your colleagues to carry out industrial action in order to oppose these plans and those expressed by your representatives to fight TfL’s plans. I can now advise you that your General Grades Committee has decided to amend some of the industrial action.
