LU quietly announced last week that our terms and conditions, framework agreements and pensions are under scrutiny: On 22 July, at an all union meeting LU management made clear they have entirely accepted the Tories’ terms - that tube workers, and not the government must make up for the massive budget deficit caused by the pandemic.

Dear Colleagues,

TFL PENSION FUND - INDEPENDENT REVIEW

Further to my email of 15th July 2021, the RMT has today received the Terms of Reference document from Transport for London setting out how they intend to process and conduct the review into the Transport for London Pension Fund. Your National Executive Committee will consider this matter and I will update you accordingly.

RMT leaflet: defending the TfL pension fund

Dear Colleagues,

TFL PENSION FUND - INDEPENDENT REVIEW

You will be aware that the RMT sent an email to our LUL members on 4th January 2021 outlining our disgust and opposition to the findings of the Independent Panel Review in respect of the TfL Pension Fund. As you will recall the Independent Panel Review makes the assumption that the TfL Pension Fund is expensive, outdated and must be reformed, a suggestion that this union totally rejects.

RMT demands full disclosure of TFL Financial Sustainability Plan

strike flag

LONDON TRANSPORT UNION RMT today wrote to London Mayor Sadiq Khan demanding that he come clean on what plans TfL are putting to the government in order to secure more funding in March.

As part of the deal made at the end of last year, Sadiq Khan agreed to submit to the DfT proposals for returning the body to ‘financial sustainability’ following the devastation of its finances by the Covid-19 pandemic. This plan was submitted to the DfT yesterday but unions have not yet seen them.
