Facts about Pay and Inflation

If you want to keep up with the latest statistics on pay settlements, inflation and other employment-related facts, you could try looking at the IDS website.

One fact it will tell you is that median pay settlements are currently running at 2% - a full 0.5% higher than LUL and TfL's current offers. ['Median' is one type of average, found by arranging the values in order and then selecting the one in the middle.]

RMT AGM: Young Members Resolutions

In February of this year, the National Young Members Conference submitted two resolutions to the AGM.

I'm pleased to announce that both resolutions were carried unanimously and that they are now union policy

London Underground Reps' Meeting

RMT has asked for the paid release of all representatives. Whether the company agrees or declines this, the union asks representatives to nevertheless make every effort they can to attend in their own time if needs must as your views are important to us.

LUL Dispute - Update

Dear colleagues,

Having listened carefully to your representatives on 6th July 2009, it was unanimously felt that London Underground's offer in regards to pay did not meet our aspirations. More importantly, LUL were still refusing to abide by cast iron agreements on no compulsory redundancies and breaking other agreements.

You will be aware that in recent weeks that there have been many news reports regarding the outbreak of a new strain of subtype H1N1 influenza, commonly called swine flu, hog flu or pig flu, and the fears that this disease may become a major global pandemic. In line with recent Government warnings the General Grades Committee has discussed the possible impact on RMT members.
