LUL resort to ancient tactic: Divide and Rule.

When RMT put in our pay claim back in November 2008 we submitted it in good faith. We expected management to negotiate improved pay and conditions in a reasonable and professional manner.

Think about it: London Underground staff were breaking records on mileage, customer satisfaction surveys and our bosses were enjoying receiving the plaudits. When was the last On The Move sent to your house that didn’t have some top manager on a junket with a trophy for “Best European railway,” “Best Customer Service”, etc, etc.

Oi !! Taxi For The Driver !!

The Bakerloo Line between QPK & SPK is to be shut down over the Xmas and New Year period.
And with the record of recent line shut downs, we are worried.
Very worried.
No thought seems to have been given to the safety of T/Ops and Station staff having to yomp from booking on at QPK DT up to SPK.
On the replacement bus service.
With scores of potentially irate drunken punters who have just been turfed off the combine at Queens Park

Tube andTfL union RMT will be holding a demonstration in support of London Underground cleaners fight against privatisation this Wednesday (18 November) as it emerged that senior TfL bosses have received a 50% increase in bonus payments over the past two years from £3.6 million in 2007 to £5.3 million this year.

The tube cleaners, who are also fighting for TfL Chair Boris Johnson’s London Living Wage, will be outside the former Metronet headquarters at Templar House, 81-87 High Holborn at 12 noon on Wednesday 18th November.

Workshop: Writing Resolutions for RMT Equalities Conferences

Venue: Unity House

Within the next few months, RMT will hold conferences for young members, women members, black and ethnic minority members, and lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender members.

Members put issues on the agendas of these conferences by getting their branch to submit a resolution. But that can be a bit daunting, so the Regional Council is holding a workshop on how to write resolutions. We will discuss the issues that these groups of members face at work and in wider society, and learn the practicalities of putting it down on paper as a resolution.

RMT Members on Employers' 'Blacklist'

The current issue of "Tribune" reveals that alongside UCATT and Unite members, members of RMT were also victims of the construction industry blacklist.

Officials from the Information Commissioner's Office raided the premises of the Consulting Association in Droitwich in February and found files on over 3,000 building workers which that body kept so that they could vet workers for construction firms.

RMT official Steve Hedley has obtained a 15 page file on himself, detailing how he was sacked from working on the Channel tunnel. After that, he could not obtain work for three months.
