We note the resolution from our London Transport Regional Council and share its concern over the police’s treatment of our Assistant General Secretary.

We refer this matter to our Legal Services Sub-committee to examine and report on the most effective support we can provide to Brother Hedley.

RMT Prepares For Expected Reintroduction Of Government Cuts To Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme

Anticipating the imminent reintroduction of government proposals to cut entitlement to claim Criminal Injuries Compensation, we instruct the General Secretary to immediately:

  • establish an e-petition on the 10 Downing Street / directgov website demanding the
  • withdrawal of the proposed cuts to the CICS, and urge members and supporters to add their names
  • support EDM422 and urge members and supporters to lobby their MPs to sign it

RMT Concerned Over London Underground's Apparent Assistance To English Defense League Demonstrators Travel

We refer this matter to our Political, Transport Policy and Liberation Sub-committee for examination and report.

Letter To Tube Lines Members Regarding Industrial Action On Pensions & Passes Dispute

I refer to my previous letter of 28th September 2012 in support of Tube Line members’ demands for equal pension and travel benefits. As you will recall the RMT General Grades Committee requested support for an overtime ban over the weekend of 5 th to 8th October 2012. I am pleased to inform you that this action was well observed by RMT members.

So that our members’ demands are met in full the General Grades Committee has considered further action and request that you support the following action:

RMT Evidence To The Greater London Assembly Follow-up To Its Investigation Into The State Of The Tube

As the largest trade union on London Underground, and the only union representing all grades on London Underground, RMT deeply regrets that no action has been taken following the GLA investigation into the state of the Tube.

In particular, RMT is deeply concerned that following the Union’s active engagement in the investigation, and the subsequent good faith with which we engaged the Olympics, that it now appears that our members are faced with an unprecedented assault.

RMT London Calling October Newsletter

The London Olympics was a resounding success thanks to the role of different sections of workers who delivered the Games. London Underground staff worked around the clock to provide an excellent service for the million extra passengers a day.

People from all over the world, able bodied and disabled, expressed their delight that stations were staffed by knowledgeable staff.

Service Control Grades Meeting

A meeting to discuss recent developments regarding Hammersmith SCC,
Management are trying to reneage on the protected earnings for life.
Management are insisting the SCL! grade will move across into the new room ( supported by TSSA ), in effect 20 SCL1's at baker St and a current campaign for 40 will take most of the expected positions.
