London Underground has just announced their intention of slashing hundreds of station staff jobs. LU is looking to cut station numbers to the bare minimum at many locations.

Signal Maintainers' Strike: Urgent safety advice for Drivers

Colleagues:

We need to advise you that RMT Signal maintainers working for the former Metronet will be taking industrial action for 24 hours starting from 06.45 on Friday 5th of February.

Their dispute is over the imposition of unagreed rosters that change Monday to Friday workers to compulsory weekends

This dispute could have serious implications for the safety of the service that LU will be offering for the duration of the industrial action.

LUL have now put out a circular regarding our dispute and urging people to vote, so please take that advice and vote YES. It is very disappointing to have to ballot nearly 750 people covered by the signals framework agreement to get LUL to listen to us. They must still think that it is Christmas and we are the Turkey ready for carving up.

Get The Facts Right!

Warning! Don’t believe everything you hear from TfL. Managers have been telling staff that they will not receive the 75% Reimbursement after April 1st 2010 if they don’t sign the pay award acceptance form. This is untrue. Reimbursement will continue for the full length of your current season ticket, even if it expires after April 1st 2010. Maybe this was meant as an early April Fool, but it’s more likely yet another mistake from management that don’t seem to have a clue what they’re doing.
