What is a National Executive Committee decision?

This article is an 'executive decision' which has been written by the RMT National Executive Committee. The National Executive is the union's governing body in between AGMs. Its decisions set out what the union will do on a particular issue.

RMT Names Strike Dates in Victimisation Dispute

Following consultation with our representatives, we call strike action as follows:

All London Underground train driver members are instructed not to book on for any duty that commences:

  • between 21:01 on Monday 16 May and 11:59 on Tuesday 17 May
  • between 12:00 on Wednesday 18 May and 11:59 on Thursday 19 May
  • between 12:00 on Friday 20 May and 21:00 on Friday 20 May

All London Underground train driver members are further instructed not to book on for any duty that commences:

  • between 21:01 on Monday 13 June and 11:59 on Tuesday 14 June
  • between 12:00 on Wednesday 15 June and 11:59 on Thursday 16 June
  • between 12:00 on Friday 17 June and 21:00 on Friday 17 June

We instruct the General Secretary to

  • send a personal letter by post to all our London Underground driver members outlining and explaining this action
  • send a personal letter to all our London Underground members in other grades outlining this action and explaining why they should support this campaign
  • provide materials and practical assistance for the organisation of picket lines
  • hold a pre-strike rally; inform members of this rally, specifying the date, time and venue; and publicise it widely, including to all other TUC-affiliated trade unions
  • speedily implement all previous GGC decisions on this issue
