RMT said today that after this union agreed to take part in talks on the basis proposed by ACAS and LUL Management having welcomed this, LUL then announced that they wished to revise the ACAS terms of reference. Talks are therefore adjourned while we await LUL Management putting their new position in writing.
All this followed LUL’s announcement of further job cuts prior to talks at ACAS.
This coming Saturday (23 October), FBU members in the London Fire Brigade will be on strike. this will mean that the LFB will not be available to provide its usual fire protection service to London Underground.

This resolution, submitted by Morden & Oval branch and amended by Finsbury Park branch, was passed unanimously by October's Regional Council meeting.
This Regional Council notes that management are pressurising members to sign agreements regarding their attendance performance. This has led to our members who have failed to meet this attendance target level being dismissed.
The Regional Council reaffirms its opposition to management's attendance policy.
AS WORKERS across London Underground prepare for a further 24 hour strike over safe staffing levels starting this Sunday evening, RMT have today released pictures of worn-away brake blocks on trains that with finance-driven maintenance changes would be forced into service, a move that the union says demonstrate that financial cuts are ripping to shreds safety and maintenance schedules with lethal consequences for passengers and staff alike.
After the successful strike on 7th September and with an overtime ban causing stations to close and engineering works to be cancelled, London Underground management is coming under strong pressure to return to the negotiating table. We can win this fight for a safe and properly staffed railway, but only if we crank up the pressure. Finsbury Park's latest leaflet explains how our overtime ban is hurting the company and calls on all members to make the next strike on October 3rd/4th even stronger than the first.

This is a letter to all RMT members at London Underground (excluding ex-Metronet), from General Secretary Bob Crow.
I am writing to advise you that despite the best efforts of your negotiators at the recent ACAS talks management refuse to take seriously our concerns that their proposed job cuts will have a devastating effect on safety. The General Grades Committee has amended the times of the next strikes as follows:
That we congratulate our London Underground members and those of TSSA for their display of unity and standing up to the threat of massive cuts in jobs and undermining of safety.
Our industrial action will continue unless Management sees sense and withdraws imposition of these totally unacceptable proposals.
The previous GGC decision of 25 August 2010 is amended as follows:
All members in the former Metronet Grades are instructed to take strike action and not to work from 19.00 hours on Sunday 3rd October until 18.59 hours on Monday 4th October.
The RMT and TSSA have an ongoing overtime ban in place with London Underground station staff. Since the overtime ban began several Stations have been closed due to lack of staff, and in some cases left unstaffed or 'baby sat' by station assistants.
