EVERY JOB MATTERS – DEFENDING JOBS ON LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/5)
Further to my previous Circular (IR/144/16, 19th May 2016), the following resolution has been received from Bakerloo Branch:-
“This Branch notes:
- The hugely detrimental effect of the “Fit for the Future” programme on our members’ working lives, including through a severe impact on work/life balance.
- LU’s plans for similar restructuring projects in other areas and functions, including trains.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS – INTERSERVE (LUL CONTRACT) (LUL/14/1)
Further to my previous Circular (IR/144/16, 19th May 2016), a further meeting took place with the Company to discuss the reorganisation of Interserve’s LUL stations contract, which Interserve stated is due to an LUL directive which will affect all grades in Station Cleaning.
BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS – FARRINGDON, BARBICAN, MOORGATE, LIVERPOOL STREET & ALDGATE STATIONS – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)
The following resolution has recently been received from our Hammersmith & City Branch:-
Today (Tuesday 24th May) we had the latest in a series of meetings regarding Night Tube (NT) and the proposed trial 4 day, 36 hour week (4DW).
(Background - As part of our dispute resolution LUL agreed to look at trialling a 4DW on the Jubilee line. This was to be negotiated at a Company Council Trains Sub-Group (CCTSG) at the same time as we negotiated the introduction of NT and the long term reduction of weekend working, and the option for current drivers (TO21s) to work reduced hours.)
Night Tube
RMT Jubilee South branch meetings are held on pay day each month, at 1600 in a private room above the Blue Eyed Maid pub in Borough High Street. The closest tube station is London Bridge.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, 8th of June.
Functional and Health & Safety Reps will be at our next branch meeting to give important updates and to take questions.
Come along to hear:
TUBE UNION RMT today slammed the “disgusting and obscene spectacle” of nearly 50 senior TFL managers decked out in black-tie regalia at Mayfair’s luxury RAF Club as they celebrated the completion of a massive cuts programme that axes 800 safety-critical station staff and trashes 289 tube ticket offices.
RMT demands a “full and transparent formal investigation” into recent Canning Town overcrowding incident and calls for all London Underground station control rooms to be fully staffed.
The RMT has learned that London Underground has set the wheels in motion for ‘Fit for the Future: Trains.’ Currently named the ‘Trains Strategy Planning’, it is likely to be a piecemeal attempt initially; looking to squeeze more for less out of drivers and to look at the organisation of train side management.
