StratfordFormerly Stratford No 1 branch, Central Line East branch includes LUL station staff (SS, SA(CR), SAMF, CSA) at all Central line stations from Holborn to Epping, Cleaners on these stations, LUL Train Operators and Instructor Operators and Sodexo canteen staff at Leytonstone depot.

Straftord no.1 branch organisation report 2009

organiseThe Regional Council Secretary wrote to all branches, asking for their assessment of their branch’s work during 2009, and suggesting that they might address the following points:
- whether your membership grew or shrunk during 2009, and why you think this is
- any problems you have had filling reps’ positions within the branch’s area
- how effective your branch was during any industrial action in your area last year
- what recruitment activities you have organised

RMT London Busworkers Meeting, Monday 8th February 2010

An RMT London Busworkers Committee meeting will take place on Monday 8th February 2010 between 5pm -7pm at The Bulstrode public house, 55, Lampton Road, Hounslow, TW3 1JG. The pub is situated next to Hounslow Central tube station.

Important recent developments and issues will be discussed at the meeting as well as an election taking place for convenors. All RMT members are welcome to attend.

National Busworkers Conference 2010

The 67th National Busworkers Conference will be held on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th April 2010, at the Elstead Hotel, 12-14, Knyveton Road, Bournemouth, BH1 3QP

The conference will be composed of duly elected delegates from branches with bus membership. Each branch with less than 100 members may send two delegates. Branches with more than 100 members may send two delegates for the first 100 members with one additional delegate for every 100 members or part thereafter.

Call for Special General Meeting on Legal Services

scales of justiceFinsbury Park branch passed the following resolution at its Annual General Meeting, requesting an RMT Special General Meeting about legal services, and has submitted it to the Regional Council for support. For the union to call such an SGM, other branches also need to support it. Stratford no.1 branch has already voted to do so. The Regional Council Executive endorsed this resolution on behalf of the Regional Council at its meeting on 9 February 2010.

How Job Cuts Plan Affects Us

London Underground's plans for slashing station staffing - leaked last week by RMT - will directly affect Stratford no.1 branch station staff in two major ways. Firstly, virtually all our ticket offices will close, with shedloads of jobs lost. Secondly, Barkingside group will be disbanded and its stations reallocated to Leyton and Buckhurst Hill groups.

Fines Pool for 2010

It's time to join the RMT Fines Pool. The Fines Pool, which is operated on a yearly basis, starts on 1st January and ends on 31st December every year. The cost of membership of the Fines Pool is one payment of £5.00 per year.

There are a number of ways to join. You can join by filling in a joining form and pay by cheque or cash to the Fines Pool collector, who is usually your branch secretary or hand it in or send it with a cheque made payable to the RMT Fines Pool to Unity House.
