Please see below an advertisement for a managerial position in Transport for London for the princely sum of £500 per day. Hands up who still thinks 1.5% (then even worse in the following years) is a "reasonable" pay rise for the rest of us mere mortals ...
Venue: Church Green, Burston, near Diss, Norfolk
Bob Crow writes ...
I would like to encourage all activists to attend this year’s commemoration of the Burston Strike School. The RMT wishes to have as large a presence as possible at this important event in the trade union calendar.
We will commemorate the longest strike in history, and celebrate the people who continue to fight for trade union rights, working class education, democracy in the countryside, and international solidarity.
From Bob Crow, RMT General Secretary
This is my personal report on the RMT AGM, which has also been published in 'Solidarity' newspaper, and on Stroppyblog.
Rail and transport union RMT held its annual general meeting from 28 June to 2 July, against a backdrop of employers attacking jobs and conditions across the industry.
The AGM was unanimously determined to resist these attacks. However, thousands of job cuts are going ahead, several strike ballots have been voted down, and it was not entirely clear how the union plans to turn this situation around.
Venue: Upstairs bar, Old Star pub, opposite St. James' Park tube station.

The new issue of our 'RMT Platform' newsletter itemises London Underground management's attacks on stations jobs, and reveals statistics that show just how mean LUL's pay offer really is. You can read all issues of 'RMT Platform' here.
It tells staff your rights regarding cancellation of overtime, and taking grievances against managers.

Coaches will take protesters from London to Codnor, Derbyshire. RMT's London Transport Regional Council will fund members to travel to the protest on coaches organised by other bodies eg. Trades Councils.
Barnet TUC has booked a 33 seat coach, which is scheduled to pick up in Finchley Central then Edgware, before travelling to Codnor to reach there at 11am. They expect to leave Codnor at about 4pm.
The attached two posters show clearly how the pay offers from London Underground and Transport for London - of a measly 1.5% this year (with an even more measly 0.5% in following years) - will not cover the real rising cost of living. In other words, it is a pay cut.
