Dear Colleagues,

DEFENDING JOBS, PENSIONS & AGREEMENTS - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/143/23, 17th May 2023), the ballot concluded with members voting as follows:

Are you prepared to take strike action?

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:      9,799

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                         5,536 

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:               5,333

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                196    

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:     7       

 

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:      9,799

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                         5,536 

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:               5,373

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                139    

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:     24     

 

Both of the above results meet the thresholds imposed due the anti-trade union laws and the National Executive Committee has congratulated members on returning a fourth vote in this dispute and giving a magnificent mandate to continue our fight to protect your jobs, pensions and agreements.

A meeting for all LUL members has been arranged on Tuesday 30th May 2023 at the Indian YMCA, 41 Fitzroy Square, London W1T 6AQ from 15:00 to 17:00 hours to discuss our continued fight to Defend Jobs, Pensions & Agreements.

Please make every effort to attend.

Also, the action short of a strike continues uninterrupted under the new mandate and all members are instructed as follows:

Not to familiarise staff who do not usually work at a location

No training of staff for roles that are outside of their normal substantive role

No undertaking of training that is outside of a member's normal substantive role
