Resolution: £5 Minimum Oyster Top-Up
Submitted by admin on Mon, 25/01/2010 - 18:35
The following resolution, submitted by Piccadilly & District West branch and seconded by Hammersmith & City branch, was carried unanimously at the Regional Council meeting on 28 January 2010.
This Union has not been consulted on the implementation of the £5 minimum top up at Ticket offices. We believe this policy is both an attack on customers, especially poorer people, and a threat to the future of ticket offices and jobs.

Submitted by admin on Fri, 01/05/2009 - 08:03
London busworkers met at the Bulstrode public house in Hounslow on Monday 20th April 09. The meeting was a very lively affair with many important topics being discussed. There was a debate on the proposed RMT London Busworkers' Charter. The charter contains the aspirations and objectives of London's RMT busworkers and include the demand for the re-nationalisation of the London Bus network, recognition of RMT on the London bus network, pay parity with Tube drivers (currently £40,073), terms and conditions parity with underground workers and joining the TfL pension. Other points include the provision of toilet facilities at every terminus and turning point, free staff gyms at garages, decent canteen provision at all garages, and for staff passes to be valid on all National Rail services.

Submitted by admin on Fri, 27/03/2009 - 07:20This resolution, proposed by Piccadilly & District West branch and seconded by Hammersmith & City branch, was passed unanimously by the March meeting of the Regional Council.
On April 6th 2009 the Employment Act 2008 repeals 2002 Employment Act sections 29 to 33 and Schedules 2 to 4 (which make provision for statutory dispute resolution procedures).
It also repeals the Employment Rights Act 1996 (c. 18), section 98A (procedural fairness).
Breach of Disciplinary Procedures - Drivers Piccadilly Line - LUL
Submitted by plectrum on Thu, 19/03/2009 - 15:02From RMT official circular IR/97/09, dated 19th March 2009
I write to confirm the final arrangements for the above ballot. The ballot papers were sent out on 19th March 2009 and the new closing date is Friday 27th March 2009.
Please note that that due to legal reasons Arnos Grove and Acton Town will be balloted separately however, it remains a single dispute
I urge RMT Drivers on the Piccadilly Line to return their ballot papers in the envelopes provided upon receiving them, to show management that the Union and our members will not be trampled on.
Yours Sincerely

Submitted by admin on Sun, 08/03/2009 - 09:17This resolution, submitted by Piccadilly & District West Branch, was passed unanimously by RMT Women's Conference 2009.
That this Conference believes that employers routinely abuse the rights of pregnant workers.
We welcome the decision of this Union to produce a ‘Know your rights’ guide for pregnant and expectant mothers as suggested by our women members BUT are very disappointed that it has not yet been produced!
We trust that the RMT will be producing this guide as soon as possible!
