19th December 2023

Dear RMT Member,

Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2023 - London Underground

I write to advise you that the ballot has now closed and the result is as follows:-

Are you prepared to take strike action?

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot: 9723

Number of votes cast in the ballot: 5334

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question: 4827

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question: 505

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned: 2

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot: 9723

Number of votes cast in the ballot: 5334

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question: 5007

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question: 317

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned: 10

Both of the above results meet the thresholds imposed due the anti-trade union laws and the National Executive Committee has congratulated members on delivering a mandate for strike action and action short of a strike.

Your RMT Reps will be meeting tomorrow to discuss our next steps in this dispute and the National Executive Committee will consider this matter again on Thursday. I will keep you informed of all further developments.

Yours sincerely,

Michael Lynch

General Secretary
