This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee which has instructed me to call our Train Operators and Instructor Operators at White City depot and at West Ruislip depot not to book on for any duties from

03:00 hours on Saturday 24th December until 02:59 hours on the 25th December.

03:00 hours on the 9th January 2017 until 02:59 hours on the 10th January 2017

Brother Storey accepts that he was responsible for a SPAD but the actions of management were overly harsh and incompatible with other similar cases where Drivers were not dismissed. This was a simple mistake, not an avoidance of the rules and I urge our members to stand firm together to demand that management use some common sense and stop using dismissal as a first response to any misdemeanour.

I will keep branches informed of developments.
