CHANGES TO CLEANING OPERATIONS – INTERSERVE FACILITIES (KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS) (DLR/15/4)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/029, 5th February 2016), this matter has again been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has noted correspondence from the Branch advising of additional issues arising from Interserve’s implementation of changes to cleaning agreements as follows:-

Breaches of agreements lead to Piccadilly strike ballot

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, TRAIN OPERATORS, PICCADILLY LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

As members may recall (Circular No. IR/236/15, 1st October 2015), we declared a dispute situation with LUL in September 2015 and balloted all Train Operator and Instructor Operator members for strike action and action short of a strike. This dispute was as a result of a catalogue of issues on the line including:-

Tube bosses to suspend the training of non-permanent employees for track patrolling purposes for two weeks

TRACK PATROLLING, CLESHAR STAFF – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/1)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/029, 5th February 2016), discussions took place at ACAS last week and progress was made over LUL’s decision to train Cleshar staff to undertake Track Patrolling duties. As a result, the National Executive Committee took the decision to suspend the strike action which was due to commence on Friday 12th February.

Interserve imposes fundamentally new working practice, doesn't even show workers new contracts

CHANGES TO CLEANING OPERATIONS – INTERSERVE FACILITIES (KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS) (DLR/15/4)

A report has recently been received from the Regional Organiser advising that Interserve Management on the KAD contract have imposed fundamental changes to the terms of our cleaning members. To make matters worse the new arrangements were imposed this Monday while discussions were still at a very early stage without proper consultation with the union being conducted.
