RMT congratulates DLR Interserve members on securing payrise

Further to my previous Circular (IR/321/15, 23rd December 2015), the industrial action was suspended and the offer received from the Company was due to be discussed at a DLR Branch meeting. This Branch meeting has now taken place and the matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has noted the correspondence on file and that the Company has been informed of our acceptance of the offer.
 

RMT strongly opposes 'holiday purchase schemes'

The Lead Officer recently submitted a report enclosing a policy document received from the Company over the concept of buying and selling annual leave entitlement on a voluntary basis. This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has reiterated that this Union strongly opposes any form of holiday purchase schemes because all workers should be entitled to a living wage and quality time away from work and should not have to trade one off against the other.

TEST TRAIN OPERATORS WORKING WITH NIRTs – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/1)
 
The Lead Officer has recently submitted a report regarding LUL’s proposal to roster Test Train Operators (TTOs) to support the Network Incident Response Teams (NIRTs), with TTOs driving trains involved with incidents attended by the NIRTs to a depot or sidings location to aid timely resumption of normal passenger service.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/029/16, 5th February 2016) and following the recent ballot result where RMT members voted ‘YES’ in favour of taking strike action and industrial action short of a strike this matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has taken the decision to call an OVERTIME BAN:-

ALL LUL MEMBERS are therefore instructed NOT TO WORK ANY OVERTIME between 18:00 hours on Wednesday 2nd March and 17:59 hours on Thursday 3rd March 2016.

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, TRAIN OPERATORS, PICCADILLY LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

As members may recall (Circular No. IR/236/15, 1st October 2015), we declared a dispute situation with LUL in September 2015 and balloted all Train Operator and Instructor Operator members for strike action and action short of a strike. This dispute was as a result of a catalogue of issues on the line including:-

TRACK PATROLLING, CLESHAR STAFF – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/1)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/029, 5th February 2016), discussions took place at ACAS last week and progress was made over LUL’s decision to train Cleshar staff to undertake Track Patrolling duties. As a result, the National Executive Committee took the decision to suspend the strike action which was due to commence on Friday 12th February.
