New Offers Recieved From Telent / MJ Quinn

Further to our decision of 29 March 2012 to ballot our members on the Telent/MJ Quinn London Underground contract, we note subsequent correspondence from each employer improving its offer to our members. MJ Quinn has offered an Olympic bonus of £750 and a 2.5% pay rise. Telent states that although it has not awarded a pay rise this year, it has paid bonuses to employees on the LU contract and is offering an Olympic payment of £850 for operationally-critical roles and £350 for other roles that are 'under pressure during the Olympic periods'.

Subject to further information and confirmation by our branch, which meets later today, this may represent progress towards resolving our current disputes with Telent and MJ Quinn on this contract.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to suspend our industrial action ballots, urgently obtain further information and the view of our branch, and to place a report in front of us tomorrow.

LU Engineering branch and London Transport Regional Council to be advised.
