Ten Reasons Why Service Control Staff Should Vote YES-YES to Save Jobs

Read the ten reasons below. Click '1 attachment' / file name to download a special issue of 'RMT London Calling for service control grades.

1. Because the job cuts on service control, stations and other grades, will be a disaster. Everyone will suffer, including our passengers.

2. Because LU management are not listening to your union reps in the talks. Industrial action is the only effective tool at our disposal that can force the issue and bring our concerns into the open.

7th of July Stations and Revenue Grades Committee

The next stations and revenue grades committee meets on: Wednesday 7th of July at 1500 hrs at The Exmouth Arms. The nearest station is Euston Square. If you need directions or further information please contact mailto:g.bowtell@gmail.com.

It is important that as many reps as possible attend, and it would be great if reps could bring members with them as this is may be the last meeting we have before any industrial action takes place - certainly this will be the last SRGC meeting before the closing date of the all grades ballot.

Following two days of strike action last week, RMT has confirmed a further 48 hours of action on Tube Lines between 19.00 hours on Wednesday 14th July and 18.59 hours on Friday 16th July.

RMT Serves Notice of Ballot for Action Against London Underground Job Cuts

Circular No IR/171/10 from RMT General Secretary Bob Crow

I write to advise branches that after substantial and detailed preparations, notice has been served on London Underground of a ballot for strike action and action short of a strike over the company’s disastrous plans to cut jobs. Papers will be sent to home addresses shortly and the ballot is due to close on Wednesday 14 July 2010. I would be grateful if you could make your members aware of this situation and urge all LUL members to vote strongly in favour of action to fight these cuts.
