PAY

  • London Underground
    • revised offer (Y1 5%, Y2-4 RPI+0.25%, Y5 RPI+0.5%) rejected by GGC
    • other unions also rejected; RMT wrote to ASLEF urging joint response: no reply
    • LU has referred the issue to ACAS
    • campaign needed in workplaces; LTRC meeting for members, 15 September
  • CTS – 3% offer, feedback sought
  • Alstom – revised offer: Y1 4%; Y2 4% + Olympics bonus of up to £400 – Regional Organiser recommends referendum with recommendation to reject

  • CTS pay – 3% offer, feedback sought

  • London Underground – The latest offer is Y1 4.75% Y2-5 RPI+0.25%, very little on conditions; RMT rejected (see decision); other unions indicated they would reject too
  • EDF Powerlink – the latest offer is Y1 4.5%, Y2-5 RPI+0.25%; RMT rejected (see decision)
  • Tube Lines (Stratford Market, ex-Alstom) – accepted 2-year deal of Y1 5.6%; Y2 RPI+0.5% (min. 0.5%); changes to rosters to be subject to negotiations

COUNCIL OF EXECUTIVES MEMBER’S REPORT TO LTRC EXECUTIVE, 8/3/11

  • DLR – RMT won appeal; in same Appeal Court decision, ASLEF also won similar appeal; proposal for new strikes on DLR to be discussed at GGC Wednesday; talks with management Wednesday
  • LU victimisations – see decision; will be a single ballot of drivers; membership lists / database needs checking; ACAS talks Wednesday; RCI rep Tony Rowntree sent to CDI
  • LU job cuts – report on Equalities review posted on website; need more reports to members on reviews; comments invited re ongoing strategy

  • I have been appointed to the following Executive subcommittees - Equal Rights, Olympics, General Finance, Staffing, Health & Safety
  • RMT grades and equalities conferences will be taking place over the next few months - all branches, please send delegates and resolutions
  • Black & Ethnic Minority Members Advisory Committee has agreed to organise an anti-slavery event in September - series of talks on various aspects of past and modern slavery, followed by evening concert

  • I was elected last Tuesday (4 January) - thanks for support.
  • I have been appointed to the following Executive subcommittees - Equal Rights, Olympics, General Finance, Staffing, Health & Safety - disappointed not to have others eg. Publicity and Propaganda, but membership of these committees was decided before I was elected.
  • RMT grades and equalities conferences will be taking place over the next few months - all branches, please send delegates and resolutions.
