Resolution for LTRC: PTAC (Privilege Travel)

LU Engineering branch submits the following resolution to the March meeting of the Regional Council.

We hear reports month after month of the increases in the cost of Travel; but we were always protected from these increases by Staff Passes and the PTAC.

Since the PPP and the privatising of the National Railway we have expected attacks to get rid or erode these privileges that we have acquired through united struggles led by our Unions.

Standing Orders of RMT London Transport Regional Council

1. The name of the Regional Council shall be the London Transport Regional Council (LTRC).

2. Under the rules of the national union and directed by the Annual General Meeting and the Council of Executives, the LTRC will be consultative and propagandist and will assist branches in the organisation and retention of members. It may also submit resolutions and appeals to the council of executives, grades conferences, the appeals court and annual general meeting. The LTRC does not have controlling powers over individual members, branches or officials.

Resolution: Stop TfL selling off LUOH

TfL no.1 branch submits the following resolution to the March meeting of the Regional Council ...

This region notes the attempted privatisation of TfL Occupational Health Service and wholly oppose the sell off our members rights to in-house occupational health services.

This is grave news as where this has happened in other parts of the railway industry it has lead to a reduction in treatment for our members and it also leads to a one way ticket to redundancy.

Resolution: Adverse Weather Conditions

LU Engineering branch submits the following resolution to the March meeting of the Regional Council ...

This Region opposes the requirement that staff take annual leave if they were unable to get to work during "adverse" weather conditions

The recent guidelines from Howard Collins are unfair in some respects to all staff.

Travelling to your nearest depot or Underground station could be seen as reasonable for operational and maintenance employees who live in London, but not for those using Main Line Services or driving if roads and mainline are badly affected.

Resolution: Support for Ian Page, TUSC

Neasden branch submits the following resolution to the Regional Council ...

This regional council applauds Bob Crow and those officials and members of RMT who have pledged their personal support to the Trade Unionists and Socialist Coalition at the next general election.

This region requests that the council of executives authorise the region and all of its branches to support Ian Page who is standing for the coalition at the next general election in the Lewisham Deptford constituency. Ian Page will be standing on the coalitions agreed core principles.

Resolution: Election Candidates

The Regional Council Executive submits the following resolution to the February meeting of the Regional Council.

This Executive Committee suggests that the LTRC organises a Special Meeting to discuss the standing of candidates, in any forthcoming Council/General Elections, under the umbrella of the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition. Branches should be asked to submit the names of any candidates who may want to stand.
