Autism In The Workplace
The original date for this event - 19 October - is already fully-booked, so it is now being repeated on this new date.
Autism in the Workplace is a really exciting event being run at the Workers’ Educational Association - WEA - on Wednesday 21st November 2012, 9.30am–4.30pm. It is sponsored by and run in partnership with the RMT.
This will be the very first briefing ever (as far as we are aware!) for union reps, officers and members of all unions on Autism in the Workplace.
The day will cover;
- What is autism? Realities and myths
- Autism issues at work
- Making the workplace more autism – friendly
- Autistic workers, carers and the law
The day will consist of a mixture of presentations and activities, and will include John McDonnell MP speaking on autism, politics and the labour movement.
Please note the briefing is free and is open to reps, members, officers of ALL unions.
Please also note that this briefing is not aimed at people whose work is with autistic clients, but for trade unionists who are organising and representing members in the workplace.
It is envisaged that this event will be very popular – places are limited to 18 – so book now! Free sandwich lunch included!
Please feel free to circulate. If you would like hard copies of flyers let us know. And if you would like the flyer blown up to A3 size to stick on noticeboards etc , again just let us know, as this can be provided.
Any questions please ask here.
