RMT Young Members Visit Occupy St Paul's

The RMT Young Members Advisory Committee held on the 14th November 2011 put the following request to the Council of Executives:
That following visits by RMT Young members to the anti-capitalist protest camp located near St Pauls the committee unanimously agreed to ask for the following -
- That the RMT make public its principled support for those engaged in the protest situated at St Pauls
- That the RMT promote the ‘message’ of the protest across the union and wider trade union and Labour movement
- That the RMT write to other TUC affiliated Unions to ask for their support for the protest
- That the RMT consider making a financial donation to the protest
- That the RMT support RMT Young Members in attending the protest in the coming weeks.
RMT Council of Executives decision:
That we congratulate the RMT Young members' positive role in the anti-capitalist protests and we seek a meeting with representatives of the Anti-Capitalist Protest Camp to see if their interests are aligned to that of the Union’s.
