RMT Executive decision on industrial action, London Underground
We note that LUL plans to cut 800 jobs is only the next stage of their plans to turn the Underground into a second or third class system. They are brazenly cutting safety standards and public service in a reversal of Mayor Johnsons pledges prior to his election
The strong vote by RMT members across LUL shows the determination of our members to resist this attack, which has been combined with a n aggressive series of sackings of staff for workplace errors and illness.
Accordingly all LUL members are instructed not to work overtime from 00.01. on Monday 6th September until further notice.
All LUL members in the ex-Metronet grades are instructed to take strike action and not to work from 17.00 hours on Monday 6th September until 16.59 hours on Tuesday 7th September
Nor from 17.00 hours on Sunday 3rd October until 16.59 hours on Monday 4th October
Nor from 17.00 hours on Tuesday 2nd November until 16.59 hours on Wednesday 3rd November
Nor from 17.00 hours on Sunday 28th November until 16.59 hours on Monday 29th November
All other LUL members are instructed not to book on for any shifts commencing between 21.00 hours on Monday 6th September until 20.59 hours on Tuesday 7th September
Nor from 21.00 hours on Sunday 3rd October until 20.59 hours on Monday 4th October
Nor from 21.00 hours on Tuesday 2nd November until 20.59 hours on Wednesday 3rd November

Further dates will be named in consultation with our representatives.
The General Secretary is instructed to liaise with the London Transport Regional Council to conduct a public campaign seeking support across London and beyond from transport users, political parties, people with special needs other trade unions and others in our battle to defend jobs, safety and other basic working standards and to prevent the underground turning into a cowboy operation.
Further The GS is to consult with our representatives and our representatives to consider variations to the times and forms of industrial action to achieve the maximum effect.
