This message has been circulated by Sindyanna, a women's workers' co-operative associated with the Workers' Advice Centre (WAC-MAAN) in Galilee, which RMT supports.

It is with a heavy heart that I forward this message from WAC-MAAN calling for an end to the war on Gaza, an end to the Israeli occupation, and a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders.

Sindyanna is a women workers' cooperative in Galilee, Israel. Iyt is linked to the Workers' Advice Centre (WAC), a trade union project that unites Jewish and Arab workers and campaigns against the oppression of the Palestinian people.

The RMT's National Women's Conference, and our Annual general Meeting support the Sindyanna co-operative and we recommend members try out their products.

Alongside baseball caps, pens and ties, you will soon be able to order RMT-labelled olive oil, baskets and soap. And by doing so, you will be supporting women workers and trade unionists in a part of the world that needs all the solidarity we can give.

RMT Council of Executives decision:

That we write to the ITF, TUC, STUC, Wales TUC and ICTU to establish if they are willing to support this campaign.

We have seen press reports about your struggle with your employer, Israel Railways and of the serious attacks on your members' collective agreements, safety and conditions of employment. We have also been informed that you and two other colleagues have been fined 10,000 NIS by the Labour Court for leading 'illegal' strike action against plans to privatise and 'out-source' your work to sub-contractors, in order to break up your collective contract.

RESOLUTION TO RMT WOMEN’S CONFERENCE: SINDYANNA

We support the work of Sindyanna, the women workers’ cooperative associated with the Workers’ Advice Centre (Maan) in Galilee.

We ask the union to promote its activities and products, and to investigate the possibilities of including Sindyanna products carrying the RMT logo in the union’s range of merchandise.

The RMT recently hosted a Palestine Solidarity meeting following the forming of the 'Patestininan Trade Union Coalition for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions' - PTUC BDS.
